ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you passionate about making a difference? Do you thrive in building meaningful relationships with donors who share a commitment to the environment? If so, we want you to be our next Philanthropy Specialist at Greenpeace Aotearoa! This role is your chance to be a driving force in achieving our ambitious income targets, with a primary focus on Middle Giving.

As a Philanthropy Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in managing and growing relationships with donors to support our urgent environmental campaigns. Your responsibilities will encompass developing and implementing Middle Donor income and growth strategies, managing donor portfolios, and ensuring a seamless supporter journey.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and implementation of the Middle Donor income and growth strategy

  • Cultivate strong supporter relationships.

  • Deliver inspirational direct mail appeals programs that generate financial support but also engage supporters with our work

  • Play an active role in fundraising campaigns and events


ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, showcasing the ability to inspire and engage donors. A strategic thinker, you will drive the implementation of Middle Donor income and growth strategies, demonstrating expertise in relationship management and donor retention. Innovation, strong negotiation abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential. If you are a collaborative, inspiring individual ready to make a difference, we want to hear from you!


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • At least two years’ experience in relationship management, fundraising or sales.

  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, capable of working without direct supervision

  • Exceptional communication skills, and confidence to speak to donors both in person and on the phone

  • Experience in copy writing or editing

  • A passion and commitment to Greenpeace mission and values

This role is based in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) and is a full time permanent position.

You must be a New Zealand citizen or resident, or hold an existing New Zealand work permit to be considered for this role.

When you work for Greenpeace Aotearoa, you join a global network of people fighting to protect the environment for future generations to come. Our salaries are competitive with the not-for-profit sector and the range for this role is $70,000 - $75,000.  This is a full time permanent position (37.5hrs per week) based in Tāmaki Makaurau.
