Philanthropy Team Caller

Job description

Want to make a difference? Love talking to people? This role is for you.

Greenpeace New Zealand is looking for a focused and driven individual with a flair for rapport building to join our Philanthropy team on a 12 month fixed term contract. This team is responsible for managing existing and new relationships with our most committed supporters.

In this role you'll handle Greenpeace New Zealand’s relationships with some of our most committed supporters. As part of one of the leading fundraising teams in New Zealand, you’ll work in a young and dynamic office full of other passionate environmentalists.

Primarily working on the phone, this role is responsible for talking to Greenpeace’s most loyal supporters to ask them to do something extraordinary - put a gift to Greenpeace in their Will. You will also occasionally be asked to carry out other calling projects as required by the Philanthropy team.

Requirements

Confident and articulate, you have an eye for opportunity and preferably 1-2 years’ experience in fundraising, sales or marketing. Outgoing and friendly, you have an organised approach, are driven to meet targets and go the extra mile. However, you will not be providing legal or financial planning advice, so prior knowledge of Will writing or estate planning is not expected or required to do this role well.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:

• The ability to build rapport and confidently converse over the telephone

• The ability to be resilient and self-motivated

• A background in sales/marketing or fundraising

• The confidence to ask for money over the telephone

• Previous experience in working towards targets/KPI’s

Sound like a dream job? If so we'd love to hear from you. To apply, please send your CV and a cover letter outlining why we should consider you for this role. (Applications without a CV and cover letter will not be accepted. This role is only available for New Zealand residents.) Please note this is a 12 month contract.

Applications close on Friday 15th November.
