A green and peaceful future is our quest. The heroes of our story are all of us who believe that a better world is not only within reach, but being built today. Greenpeace exists because this fragile earth deserves a voice. It needs solutions. It needs change. It needs action. It needs you.
We have a rare opportunity to join our Philanthropy team from February - September 2020. This is our high value team who are responsible for managing existing and new relationships between our most committed supporters and Greenpeace.
The role is all about developing relationships - in person, through events and on the phone - with our current loyal supporters who we think would be interested in leaving a gift in their Will to Greenpeace. You will inform them of the environmental campaigns and actions Greenpeace are taking, inspiring them to take action themselves by making one of these extraordinary gifts.
We are looking for someone who is confident and articulate, but also has maturity and empathy when it comes to Greenpeace’s causes and our supporters’ unique circumstances - it is a pairing of these two elements that is crucial to this role.
Our preference would be that you have sales/marketing or fundraising experience however we are looking for the person that embodies our values more than anything. This role has individual targets so you will need to be a goal driven person and gain satisfaction not only from contributing to a leading environmental organisation but also from reaching your KPI’s.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:
• The ability to build rapport and confidently converse in person, in small groups and on the telephone
• The ability to be resilient and self-motivated
• A background in sales/marketing or fundraising
• Previous experience in working towards targets/KPI’s
What you’ll get in return:
Greenpeace is independent - politically and financially. It enables us to campaign on areas that are of the most concern, and in ways that will be the most effective. We try to be completely transparent about our approach to asking people for support. We take great pride in our ethics and have strong moral principles that will impact how this role will compare to your last sales role!
So if you think you have what it takes to make meaningful connections on behalf of Greenpeace then we want to hear from you. Please apply with your CV and a cover letter outlining why we should consider you for this role. To apply for this role you must be a New Zealand resident or hold a valid work visa.
Applications without a CV and cover letter will not be accepted, applications close on Friday 28th February 2020, your application may not be processed til this date.
Once we have reviewed all applications, we will be in touch via phone or email. Our usual recruitment process consists of a first interview, a consecutive work task, a second interview, reference and police checks.
